Dear Vision Families:
As we continue to monitor the unfolding situation surrounding COVID-19, we are communicating daily with the USAV Florida Region and National office. Currently, the USAV National office has suspended all activities until APRIL 30. Vision Volleyball Club of Gainesville will continue to adhere to this policy. This decision was not made lightly and is intended to follow Governor DeSantis’ recently signed Executive Order # 20-71 which orders “the closure of all gymnasiums and fitness centers within the state of Florida.”
Tournament postponements are starting to come in. Yesterday I participated in a conference call with the USAV Florida region board, staff and directors. It is the desire and plan of USAV Volleyball across the country to finish this season. It is not canceled, just postponed.
At this time all tournaments planned for April are postponed. All hotels that were booked through a Vision block will be canceled for you. Please know that the region is working diligently with tournament directors across the state to reschedule and secure new dates. It is their hope to have dates secured by the middle of next week. Thank you for your patience and understanding; we will communicate the dates as soon as we can.
At this time, we also decided to postpone our Annual Banquet/ Gift Basket Fundraiser. This event is an important part of our club, both for the recognition of our athletes and the funds raised. Please continue to think about your gift baskets and team table decorations so when we are back on track with club activities, everyone will be ready to go!
We know this is a trying time but we stand firm in our belief that our Vision family will only grow through this challenge. We miss each and every one of you in the gym and look forward to our time together soon. Please stay safe and, remember, get better every day!
Keeping the Vision Strong,
